For our electric bikes (Metro Cruiser) and e-scooters (Bolt X, Surge Pro), which have a top speed limited to 25 km/h, you do not need a driver's license. You just need to be 18 years or older and provide a valid government-issued ID (like an Aadhaar card or Passport) for verification during the in-app signup process. For our gearless petrol scooter (VeloCity Dash), a valid two-wheeler driver's license is mandatory and must be uploaded and verified in the app before you can book.
Yes, absolutely. Safety is non-negotiable for us. Every VeloCity vehicle is equipped with a secure, smart-lock helmet box. You can unlock it via the app at the start of your ride. Wearing a helmet is mandatory for all our vehicles in all cities, regardless of local laws. We provide high-quality, sanitized helmets in various sizes. Failure to wear a helmet is a violation of our terms of service and can result in fines or account suspension.
We're here to help 24/7. If you experience any technical issue or a breakdown, please first ensure you are in a safe location away from traffic. Then, use the 'Help' or 'SOS' feature in the VeloCity app to connect immediately with our support team. We can diagnose many issues remotely via our IoT system. If needed, we will guide you to the nearest safe parking spot and dispatch our on-ground operations team to assist you and provide a replacement vehicle if necessary.
Responsible parking is key to keeping our service running smoothly for everyone. Our app will show designated 'V-Zones' in green on the map. These are the preferred parking areas. You can also park in any legal, public two-wheeler parking spot. Please ensure you do not block sidewalks, building entrances, wheelchair ramps, or bus stops. The app will require you to take a photo of your parked vehicle at the end of the ride to ensure it's parked correctly.
Our pricing is transparent and simple. You are charged a small, one-time fee to unlock the vehicle, followed by a per-minute or per-hour rate depending on the vehicle and your city. The exact rates are always displayed in the app before you start your ride. The total amount is calculated automatically when you end your trip and is charged to the payment method (credit/debit card, UPI, or wallet) linked to your VeloCity account. We also offer daily, weekly, and monthly passes for frequent users, which provide significant savings.
Our services are designed for urban mobility, and all our vehicles must remain within the designated operational zone shown in the app map. This zone is typically defined by the city's main metropolitan area. Attempting to take a vehicle outside this geofenced area will trigger an alert, and the vehicle may automatically slow down and lock. You will not be able to end your trip outside the operational zone, so please plan your journey accordingly.
